University Consortium for Applied Hypersonics Industry Day

Please join us for the inaugural University Consortium for Applied Hypersonics Industry Day to be held virtually on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, from noon until 4:00 p.m. CT. The consortium was developed to promote collaborative, cross-disciplinary research into hypersonic-related problems, to help transition ready technologies to operational capabilities, and to enhance development of the nation’s hypersonics workforce.

Hypersonic Strike Systems—A Rapidly Evolving Capability Join us online as AIAA and Lockheed Martin work together to execute an unclassified 60-minute webinar that addresses some of the key activities and issues related to the ongoing U.S. effort to rapidly develop and field the first generation of hypersonic strike weapon systems. This webinar will cover: Adversary […]

University Consortium for Applied Hypersonics Seminar Series: Focus of Joint Hypersonics Transition Office Research with Regard to the US Department of Defense Science and Technology Categories

Dr. Gillian Bussey, Director of the Joint Hypersonics Transition Office (JHTO), will discuss these S&T activities, how they relate to JHTO S&T Road Maps, and how this impacts the project solicitations and evaluations conducted through the University Consortium for Applied Hypersonics.

University Consortium of Applied Hypersonics Seminar Series: Hypersonic Air-Breathing Vehicle Design

Abstract Hypersonic vehicle design is a multidisciplinary optimization problem. Vehicle configurations are chosen and refined to meet a set of requirements all within the tight constraints set by the hypersonic environment. Parameters including lift-to-drag ratio, volume/weight, maneuvering characteristics, and thermal management, to name a few, are all of the first-order considerations for an operationally relevant […]
