Why Join UCAH?

 UCAH is building a strong, collaborative community of hypersonics students, making high-level hypersonic knowledge available to students and supporting professional development.

  • Biannual forums featuring academic and industry leaders in hypersonics.
  • Bimonthly seminars with hypersonic experts.
  • Curated information about internships and jobs for students.

Are you a student in hypersonics or related program and interested in the University Consortium for Applied Hypersonics? Please submit the request for participation form below. All participants must be U.S. citizens, with case-by-case exceptions made by the government for residents of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. To be eligible, participants must be current students at an consortium member institution.

Serving the nation by addressing our needs in hypersonics science and technology, workforce development and technology transition.

Tyler Dean, co-director of the University Consortium for Applied Hypersonics Student Association. Originally from Quincy, Illinois, Tyler received his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and is set to graduate in 2023 from Texas A&M University Texas A&M University Department of Aerospace Engineering with his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering.

Allison Rzepka, co-director of the University Consortium for Applied Hypersonics Student Association. Allison is pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Previously, she studied at Cornell University and received her B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering with a minor in fiber science.

In the News

The University Consortium for Applied Hypersonics held its biannual spring forum in College Station on March 30-31 with over 200 people attending panels and keynotes that focused on “leap ahead” technologies and science and technology planning. The forum also featured a student poster competition where undergraduate and graduate students presented their hypersonic research. The top three student finalists were: Ernesto Borrego from Mississippi State University, Jacob Rogers from Texas A&M and Zach Johnston from the University of Minnesota. The University Consortium for Applied Hypersonics is hosting a student and industry networking event as a part of their workforce development strategy at the only comprehensive aviation conference in the United States. Graduate and undergraduate students will have an opportunity to share their resumes with industry partners and researchers who are existing members of a UCAH-affiliate industry or university partner groups. Students will also get a chance to learn more about becoming a student member of UCAH and the benefits of joining the organization from UCAH representatives. Read more: tx.ag/StudentNetworking
