Abstract:
This presentation is an overview of ultra-high temperature materials typically used in thermal protection applications for hypersonics. The unique class of materials requires that material characteristics and manufacturing approaches are considered in the overall design of the hypersonic system to ensure survival in the extreme environments of hypersonic flight.
