The University Consortium for Applied Hypersonics (UCAH) is hosting a social event for students and employers in the aviation and hypersonic industry at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Aviation Forum in Chicago on June 29 from 6-8 p.m. The Joint Hypersonic Transition Office (JHTO) and UCAH Hypersonic Community Career and Networking social is geared toward students in the fields of engineering, science and hypersonic technology.
This networking event is part of the UCAH workforce development strategy. Graduate and undergraduate students will have an opportunity to share their resumes with industry partners and researchers who are existing members of a UCAH-affiliate industry or university partner groups. Students will also get a chance to learn more about becoming a student member of UCAH and the benefits of joining the organization from UCAH representatives.
UCAH industry partners will also have an opportunity to share job and internship information directly with students at the event or with the UCAH team, which will dispense the information through its monthly student job and opportunities mailing list.
The setting of this social, the AIAA forum, is the only aviation event in the country that covers the entire breadth of aviation, including business, research, development and technology. This conference has presentations from aviation leaders and helps educate and connect attendees to affect global aviation policy, research and development, technology innovation, environmental concerns and emerging markets. Along with the UCAH- and JHTO-sponsored social, AIAA will be hosting several “Rising Leaders in Aerospace” events throughout the five-day conference, all geared toward students and young professionals and designed to provide mentoring and networking opportunities.
